Find a province and district from coordinates

Enter a WGS84 coordinate to find the province and district polygons that contain it. The lookup uses MapScale’s vendored administrative reference across 77 provinces and 928 district records and returns Thai and English names with stable PCODEs.

Use decimal degrees in WGS84 (EPSG:4326). GeoJSON stores coordinates as [longitude, latitude]. A latitude of 18.7883 and longitude of 98.9853 is a Chiang Mai example; these are not survey coordinates.

Coordinates are sent to the server to perform this lookup. The application does not save a coordinate history or add them to the page URL. The API request URL contains the coordinates and infrastructure logs may retain it. Avoid submitting sensitive locations.

Reference coordinates

Chiang Mai example: longitude 98.9853, latitude 18.7883. Bangkok example: longitude 100.5018, latitude 13.7563. Enter your own verified coordinate to check its containing polygons.

How the lookup works

The server checks polygon containment, including islands and interior holes. Province and district shapes are checked independently; a bounding rectangle alone does not establish containment. Shared borders are reported explicitly instead of selecting an arbitrary side.

This is an administrative lookup, not a parcel survey, postal-address verification, hazard assessment or legal determination. Simplified shapes can disagree near borders. The tool does not infer subdistricts or street addresses.
