Mapbox is a strong, well-documented platform with genuinely global coverage. The gap that matters for a Thailand-focused product is narrower than the price gap: both run on OpenStreetMap-derived data for Thailand, so the deciding factor is usually the bill, not the map.

Google Maps Platform's data quality and brand recognition are real advantages, especially for a consumer app whose users already trust the Google Maps name. Its per-request pricing is also the highest of the three providers on this page — the table below uses Google's own published core-services rate list.

HERE and TomTom are credible, established alternatives to Mapbox and Google — but neither publishes a self-serve per-request rate the way Mapbox and Google do. Both cap a free monthly tier and then route anyone who needs more to a sales conversation, which makes their actual cost at scale unknowable from the outside.
