Verifying places data before commercial location analysis

Mapped places are location references, not a complete licensed-business registry or a verified tenant list. For a commercial shortlist, verify identity, coordinates and operating status separately, and retain the evidence and date of that verification.

Procedure

  1. Search using a business name and local context; keep candidate results rather than forcing the first match.
  2. Check duplicates, entrances and operating status against an authorized direct source.
  3. Keep source attribution when exporting derived location context and record unverified candidates.

Interpretation checks

Input or conditionHow to interpret it
Duplicate namesBranches or unrelated businesses may share a name.
Coordinate matchA centroid need not be the vehicle entrance.
No resultNot proof that a business does not exist.

Illustrative working example

Code illustrates a review procedure, not an observed result. Replace illustrative inputs with verified records; missing values deliberately remain unknown.

candidate = {"name": "Example warehouse", "status_verified": False}
# Illustrative name, not a listing or observed business.
# Keep verification time and source separate from map presence.

Useful output and decision limits

A verified candidate list and exception log for location research. It does not establish ownership, leasing availability, revenue or property value.
