Thailand data analysis guides

Choose a question, follow a reproducible procedure and keep the evidence limits visible. These guides explain the published dataset contracts, not unverified live measurements.

Download Thailand province and district boundaries: GeoJSON and Shapefile

Download 77 province and 928 district reference boundaries in GeoJSON or a real Shapefile ZIP. Both formats contain the same simplified COD-AB geometry and PCODE identifiers, with English and Thai names. Choose GeoJSON for web tools or Shapefile for a GIS workflow; neither is cadastral evidence.

Thailand truck access times: Bangkok and selected official road references

Compare six scoped references for ordinary trucks on Bangkok surface roads, named EXAT expressways, Lam Luk Ka Road Khlong 5–7, and four Phra Pradaeng sois. Read the vehicle class, road segment, Bangkok-time windows, exceptions and original source together. This is partial research, not legal advice or nationwide truck routing.

How to interpret Thailand historical flood extents

A published satellite extent records an observed event footprint. An overlap is evidence for that observation; no overlap cannot establish that a location has never flooded. The MapScale archive is historical and fixed, not a forecast.

Empty flood map or no flood? Check observation coverage

An empty bounded response means no observations were returned for that request. It may reflect limited sources, area coverage, time filters or availability. Check coverage and freshness independently before making an operational interpretation.

PM2.5 aggregates, averaging periods and comparison limits

MapScale currently exposes published PCD area-level PM2.5 aggregates for the Bangkok metropolitan region. Compare a value with a standard only after matching pollutant, unit and averaging period. These aggregates are not current station readings or personal exposure estimates.

What annual satellite hotspot totals can and cannot show

Published district totals in Tak and Chiang Rai count satellite hotspot detections. A detection is not a confirmed fire or an independent fire event. Missing districts are unknown, and counts cannot be converted directly into burned hectares.

Water station locations are not current water-level readings

The current water-stations layer is an experimental Bangkok catalog of monitoring locations and metadata. It helps identify where measurement infrastructure exists, but does not contain current readings. A plotted station cannot answer how high the water is now.

Verifying places data before commercial location analysis

Mapped places are location references, not a complete licensed-business registry or a verified tenant list. For a commercial shortlist, verify identity, coordinates and operating status separately, and retain the evidence and date of that verification.

Using mapped waterways without assuming flow or water rights

OpenStreetMap waterway geometry provides mapped river and canal context in Thailand. Proximity to a mapped line does not show flow, year-round water supply, drainage capacity or a legal right to draw water. These questions need separate evidence.

How to combine location evidence without inventing a risk score

Keep geographic identity, historical events, terrain summaries and place references as separate evidence records. They differ in scale, time and meaning. A transparent decision matrix preserves those differences instead of presenting an unsupported combined risk number.
