Water station locations are not current water-level readings
The current water-stations layer is an experimental Bangkok catalog of monitoring locations and metadata. It helps identify where measurement infrastructure exists, but does not contain current readings. A plotted station cannot answer how high the water is now.
Procedure
Locate the station and inspect its monitoring purpose, such as rainfall or canal level.
Find a permitted authoritative measurement source and verify station identity, measurement unit and time.
Keep catalog metadata separate from readings; evaluate outages and stale timestamps before alerts.
Interpretation checks
Input or condition
How to interpret it
Station point
Evidence of a cataloged monitoring location.
Missing reading
No current measurement supplied by this layer.
Water level vs rainfall
Different quantities and units; do not combine them as one score.
Illustrative working example
Code illustrates a review procedure, not an observed result. Replace illustrative inputs with verified records; missing values deliberately remain unknown.
station_review = {"location_verified": False,
"reading": None, "reading_time": None, "unit": None}
# A catalog location cannot fill the missing measurement fields.
Bounded API request
Read-only public request, limited to 100 features. Check HTTP status, freshness and pagination before interpreting the result. Foundation layers use their dedicated APIs; this is not a bulk database export.
A station-infrastructure inventory and a list of missing measurement dependencies. It supports planning, not a real-time evacuation or dispatch decision.
